“Board Meeting”   $700
oil/resin on Birch
20x20 (x2 deep wrap)

This piece is very dynamic in person.  The resin is perfectly clear & in poured in a swirly coat (reflects glare in photo) to add movement and excitement.

I love to paint on wood and allow some of the woodgrain to show with very thin glazes; also to depict the incredible sparkle of sunlight across water using translucence and the visual effect (disappearing!) bright light has on the pier pilings.

“Beach Stroll”   $300
oil on panel 10x8
framed in dark bronze wood

This is a palette knife piece which features expressive thick paint strokes over a thin underpainting (in my favorite rusty tones).

“Watcher”   $150
oil on panel 7x5
framed in dark bronze wood

This is a palette knife piece which features expressive thick paint strokes over a thin underpainting (in my favorite rusty tones).

“Silver Surf”   $75
acrylic on panel 5x7 unframed
(comes with bronze metal display stand)

This is a fun little acrylic with textures and silver translucent paint dripped in.

“Make a Splash”   $200
acrylic & oil on panel 8x10 unframed
(comes with bronze metal display stand)

This was a departure in color scheme to try some fresh fun effects.  Thin acrylic washes for the underpainting and then thick palette knife work in oil for the figure.

“Emergence”   $575
oil on panel 12x24
framed in black wood

I really explored the contrasts in this underwater piece: light & dark, color temperatures,  thin & thick paint with drips & runs plus scrapes and some palette knife work.

Lots of opportunity for expressive passages
under the water!

“Coral Break”   $350
oil on panel 12x12
framed in black wood

This is a palette knife piece which features expressive thick paint strokes over a thin underpainting (in my favorite rusty tones).

I loved the reflective surfaces in my reference photos: wet sand and the shiny board.

“Yoga4”   $100
oil on solid copper 4x4 unframed
(comes with bronze metal display stand)

Painting on copper (as some of the old masters did) is amazing!  I like to scrape some areas lightly to reveal the shiny copper hinting at extra sparkle from the water.

“Waterman3”   $250
acrylic on canvas panel unframed
(comes with bronze metal display stand)

Mostly thin passages of acrylic colors to represent the transparent nature of water.

The rider is paddle-surfing or Stand Up Paddle surfing which has become very popular over the past few years.
